We have several submissions from tatters. First is Judith Anderson:
Next we have Michelle’s Youngburg motifs:
These were all needle tatted in size 20 Lizbeth. Thank you Michelle!
Kathleen finally finished her Baby Bonnet. It is stunning! She reports that she will tat a second bonnet in white. I can’t wait to see it:
Stephanie W. has been busy with the Youngburg book also. Here are 3 versions of the Infant Yoke. The first is a single square:
Next, she tied together 4 squares (left) and then climbed out to tat 4 squares using a continuous thread:
Finally, She added a center square in a contrast color:
Her suggestion for blocking is wise:
Press it after each of the small squares, otherwise it’s a real bear to sort out which ring gets joined to and which one doesn’t. I blocked the tatting after each square – did a square, dampened it and let it dry pinned in place overnight, did another square the next day, blocked that one….lightly pressed the whole thing once it was completed.
Finally, Judy Corman has shared her tatted gift. She made this to celebrate an 80th birthday. Lovely!
Class resumes next Monday on September 15, 2014. See you in class!
